2023 was my first year to finish a stitch journal. I wrote about the project at the beginning of last year in a blog post. I used fabric from an old dress and bright red pearl cotton #8 thread. I started with my word of the year - attune - to bring into harmony. I stitched it in the middle of the journal/piece of fabric to remind myself every day. Then slowly started stitching red circles, one circle for everyday. The first month or so I had a different stitch pattern for each day until I decided to simplify with just a circle - no drawing or template, just organically stitch, each with their own uniqueness. I love having a piece to hold the year. A year of so much.

.brand N E W AEO shop.
I am so thrilled!! The brand N E W AEO shop is LIVE!! This has been a big project for me as an artist. I selected my favorite pieces from 3 of my collections, Unveiling Truths, Rebirth, and Broken::Bloom and had a dear friend/artist/photography take professional pictures. It feels like a real step forward as an artist, taking my art to a new level. You can find the shop via my website, aliciaeo.com or directly right here.
Thanks for all the love and support!!
xx Alicia

.sunday night.
I've been traveling for the past month, which has been so wonderful. Summer time in New England makes up for every horrible no good very bad moment of winter. I've missed the studio. I've only had moments in the studio in the past few weeks - squeezing in time to finish up my summer commissions.
My summer travels have left me so inspired (as they always do) the magical rawness of foggy Maine mornings and afternoon downpours, the hot swampy mornings on the cape and the hidden beaches swimming with seals only feet away, the fascinating subculture of Rhode Island island life and ferry rides to the Boston harbor islands - I feel full from a nutritious meal of nature inspirations but I don't know what to do with it. Like a present that is too beautiful and perfect to open - how do I express this/interpret this...I don't know. It's going to take more time.
Yesterday I saw something and is sparked a surge of energy - ideas of new shapes - the connection of metal and clay. I was ready to make something new. I spent the evening in the studio playing with these shapes. I am exciting to be creating new things again, to be surged with energy, to be interpreting something - again.
More to come.

.unveiling truths.
The Unveiling Truths collection was inspired by the long cold isolating winter. The pieces explore the process of accepting ambiguity (impermanence) .
I tend to move quickly, reaching outwards to find truth. The isolation of winter forced (paralyzed) me to slow down - allowing space to sit with myself to discover that all truths are within me - known by me - constantly unveiling themselves.
I just have to listen.

This is my latest jewelry collection, Unveiling Truths. Above is a short description of my inspiration for the wares and a few pictures from the look book. The full look book can be seen here, http://www.aliciaeo.com/unveiling-truths#
I don't know what I would do without my art - the process of something coming through you and releasing itself is so moving, powerful and humbling. This journey has been months long and beyond beautiful. Thank you for allowing me to share it with each and everyone of you.

.turquoise.
The Native Americans honor turquoise as a sacred stone due to it's ability to absorb negative energies. Turquoise is believed to bring strength and healing to the wearer of the stone. Is that why it's such a feel-good stone?
I finished the turquoise holiday commissions. It was really special for me to be able to create these pieces. They have such a southwest energy to them. I was daydreaming about Joshua Tree while I was making them. Have you been? It's such a magical place. So combining the magic of Joshua Tree and turquoise I made a collage to show off the aeo wares.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday filled with warmth, good eats and reminders of love.
onwards and upwards to 2015.
