.meditation on spring.

Happy Spring!

With all the happening of the world, spring seems like such a gift this year, a sliver of hope for renewal - rejuvenation - rebirth. I went on a  road trip down to Eugene a few weeks ago and with it's more mild climate was overjoyed to find blooms and lush trails. There is such a special energy to college towns. I sat in a café and drank an americano for the first time in two years. I went to the farmer's market and savored first Friday at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art.

I'm dedicating more time to fiber practices, daily stitches, took a weaving class that reinvigorated my enjoyment of rigid heddle weaving. Today, I'm working on a mini quilt as a mediation on spring. To set intentions for entering a new season. To remind myself of my word of the year, gentleness and take time to come back to myself amongst all the chaos these days.

And some  other things I've been inspired by lately:

- Today is Nowruz, Persian New Year! There are many wonderful rituals to welcome spring, one is to read poems by Hafiz. Here is the Song of Spring for you to read or listen to.

Aaron Sanders Head, a quilter and natural dyer based in Alabama. He has a wonderful virtual beginner class coming up soon!

- I just started listening to One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle on Libby. It's narrated by Lauren Graham. I've just started and I'm ready to buy a ticket to the Amalfi Coast

- I am also listening to Getting to Center by Marlee Grace and finding curiosity to bring in some of their practices to my own life to find my grounding and centering.
